First Dove Hunt- Post from Daddy!

Just wanted to add a email I got from Daddy.  He was so proud of Drake's first Dove hunt, I thought I would share... The little gal in the pictures is my cousin Stefanie's daughter Marlie.

I took Drake dove hunting last Sunday afternoon in BC at Joey Sliva's turf farm.  He had a blast and made a great retriever.  One of my birds was still alive and fluttering on the ground.  I let Drake crack it with his BB gun and he killed it dead on his first shot.  You should have seen the look of excitement on his face when he killed his first dove.  He has now informed me that he is ready for the duck blind this year.

So that is where I am at now.. .  We love to here comments, so please post some and if you have a blog here, please let me know. I love keeping up with everyone..  THANKS..

F-I-R-E TRUCK, Here Comes the Fire Truck HOORAY HOORAY HOORAY

Part of our favorite Song from Barney...  Today Carter had a special treat at school, The FIREMEN!  Lately they have been studying about people in the community that help them, and today he got to see the fire truck.  He had to miss Tuesday from being sick, But I am so pumped when I found out they were coming and he was well enough to be at school..
Don't you think he makes a cute Fireman!

BREATHING TREATMENTS

Right now are life is ALL about BREATHING TREATMENTS!!!
I am so ready for my kiddos to get back to healthy and move on.  First it is the stomach virus for a WHOLE week after IKE.  Some how Drake managed not to catch it, thank heavens for that. But the rest of us suffered for a week.  The only good thing out of catching that was losing a few pounds, but LOL, those pounds are already back on.... So that was what, three weeks ago.....

So now, this past Friday rolls around and Carter is a wee bit warm, go on with the day, Saturday, temp still up and FUSSY!! Sunday, temp down, yeah for a minute, but NO, after nap it is back up and HIGH 102.5. Monday we head in to see our AMAZING pediatrician Dr. D.  So we listen to the lungs and she was not happy and sent us over to Methodist for a pneumonia chest xray.  Go back and visit her after and that stat report said no pneumonia, but still developing. So we go on antibiotic and every 4 hour breathing treatments.  On Tuesday morning Dr. D calls back and said yes there are some hazy spots and that she wants to follow up as pneumonia and continuing our meds and treatments.. So off Carter goes, hating the treatments and shaking his head after the nasty medicine.. Carter says YUCK!

So this leads us to today, Thursday. Drake wakes up and says he can't go to school that his tummy hurts, and he asks what happens if he stays home.  I respond with you stay in bed all day and rest.  Drake- no nintendo DS or Wii, Me- nope, you just rest.  Drake- Well Kyle got to play his when he was home sick, (this is one of his best bud) Me- This mommy says bed and rest.  So off to school he went, but I did tell him that if he felt really bad they would send him to the nurses office and call me. Honestly I was thinking he would get with all of his friends, and NO PROBLEM, wants to stay at play.  Nope 10:35 my cell rings, it is the nurse, he was with her complaining that his back hurts and he was really upset, but no fever.  So as I drove to get him I called Dr. D and they said to bring him right in they had an opening.  Grab Drake and off to the doc.  He gets weighed 50 pounds and temp 99.8 which is higher than earlier. Hummm I start to question....  Dr. D looks at him and at first didn't think anything, but Drake then started explaining the pain was up in the back between the shoulders. Dr. D said she was listening low and moved it up, and Low and behold his lungs are so tight that when he breaths it is hurting him in the back.  So now my big guy has also moved to the world of antibiotic and breathing treatments.  And now as of this evening he has a temperature of 102.5..

We are hoping to get well by Saturday so we can head to Bay City for the Rice Festival parade and carnival.

DANCE GYMBO DANCE

This year I decided to enroll Carter in a play class at Gymboree.  I had ALWAYS wanted to do it with Drake, but I worked through the year and had one month off in the summer so it never worked.  So I jumped in with Carter and off we went.. Plus two of my best buds are in the class so they helped talk me into it.  At first I was like ok this is kinda gay, but hello being degreed in Early Childhood, I jumped right in with the singing and dance, and the more I played the more Carter joined in and Laughed.  To say the least he loves Gymboree!!  When we pull up to the place, he starts clamping and going nuts and say bimbo, talking about his bud GYMBO.  Well Carter's birthday is coming up in two weeks and we are having a carnival, so i thought that we needed to have gymbo there.  So I will confess that I bought one of the HUGE gymbo clowns and Carter LOVES him.  I was trying to be sneaky and throw him in the back of the car, but he saw and all I heard was MY BIMBO!! I gave in and he rode home on top of Carter. This guy is HUGE, I would say the same size as Carter.. Heck what is perfect Carter is going to be a clown for Halloween.  Could it get any better than that.. We also now own the Dance Gymbo Dance CD, so we are now, nightly, dancing around the living room with gymbo, and Carter makes us do it MORE MORE MORE, I promise we are a sight. All four of us dancing with Gymbo...

SOCCER STAR!!

GO ALLIGATORS!!!!
We are in another season of soccer and enjoying it as much as the first time we have ever played. I am one of those soccer moms, you know the yeller, but I yell for all the kids.. I think they like to hear that they have fans on the side lines.  But I must admit there are times when Drake will ask me not to yell as loud, lol, but yep I would make you a proud soccer mom.   But really who makes us proud is Drake, he loves soccer and he plays hard.  He focuses on the ball and plays his little heart out. One thing about Drake is that he is pretty shy and doesn't want a lot of attention on him, so every time he scores a goal that head goes down with a big embarrassed look. It doesn't matter if he scores one goal or 10, it happens each time. So cute, it is what makes Drake Drake.  He is so proud, but isn't one to boost his win.

We have the same coach, coach Jason, who has coached us since we were 3.  He has done a great job with all the kids, I hate to think what will happen when we have to move to an all boy team, because at the moment we are COED and he has a daughter, that rocks, and he will go and coach the all girl team.  I guess we will have to start looking for a new coach next year.  But I don't what to think about changed when at the moment we have the best coach for our kids..

It has been amazing watching Drake listen to the coach and works as a team through the years. We are some proud parents of our boy....
