And the curls are GONE!!

Well for the most part!!!

Carter got his first hair cut today, no longer is he a baby with curls, he is a BIG BOY!!  The lady that cut his hair was cute and said she couldn't cut it too short, because she wanted it some what curly.  He looks cute, but not the same.  He is totally growing up too fast in front of our eyes. Drake was so funny when he walked in from school and saw Carter, he said, "who is that big boy with a new hair cut." AWWW those boys melt my heart..

Drake's Class Halloween Party

A fun day was had by all.  Thanks Wendy for opening up your home to Drake's class and organizing a fun filled afternoon.  The kids had a blast and the parents enjoyed some adult interaction, which I always look forward too.

The kids were so excited to dress up.  Carter is going to be a clown for Halloween, but it was way to cold and I had nothing to put under his costume, so for the day he was MICKEY MOUSE!!!  Drake was a Star Wars Clone trooper and had TONS of fun, chasing his friends with his gun..

Carter is 2!

I can't believe my big boy is 2!!
We had a WONDERFUL carnival party, but glad it is over. He got tons of gifts and many many firetrucks, and at the moment he is sleeping with one of them. Drake was an awesome big brother through out the day. Checking on him, seeing if he needing more cotton candy or something to drink. And when we opened gift this morning, he asked if he could help. SO SWEET.. We truly have been blessed with two wonderful boys...

Carter had a precious outfit made for the day, but it ended up falling off of him so we went with something other- cute- still though.. But check out his cute outfit with his name and cupcake on it. PRECIOUS, but it's okay.. It will go in his memory box.

For my friends reading with young babies, they grow WAY TOO FAST, hold them tight. It felt like yesterday that Carter was born.
Time to go down memory lane...

Our New Friend- SANDY!!

Yep Ladies and Gentlemen we have a new addition to our family. Her name is Sandy and we are in LOVE!!  Jess has been wanting to get a hunting lab, so we had been in the 'talks'.  Well I really wanted a puppy, but Jess found this gal, a little shy of 5 months, from a breeder in the area and he just had to have her.  The kids are in LOVE and it makes my heart swell every time I see them cuddle her. Drake is so sweet and keeps thanking us for his dog. ..  So new addition it is, Sandy welcome to our family!!!

Pumpkin Patch and Pumpkin Painting..

We went to a local pumpkin patch this afternoon.  Nanny and PawPaw, Jess's parents, are involved in the pumpkin patch at Holy Cross church here in Sugar Land.  They were working and we went to visit.  Sara, my sister in law, brought her two boys and a fun time was had by all. The ran, played with pumpkins, played on the swing set and didn't want to leave.  It was perfect weather for a perfect afternoon.

After picking our pumpkins at the patch we came home to paint some little pumpkins.  Drake took a lot of time and work to paint, as he calls it, 'the perfect pumpkin'. Carter on the other hand had more paint on him than the pumpkin.  He was not a happy camper when the paint was put a way, but it was time for him to have a bath.

We had a great time and the start to our FALL FUN!! I can't wait to go to Dewberry Farms for 'real' pumpkin patch fun....

Rice Festival Parade and Carnival

Today the Richards Clan enjoyed the Rice Festival Parade and Carnival in Bay City.  The Rice Festival brought many smiles to my face as a child and many more today seeing my children's excitement today.  We joined family and friends in Bay City to enjoy a day of much needed fun after all the sickness that has gone through our home lately.

Dede and her boys

Mimi B, Nanny, Steelie, and Stefanie

We met up with my mom and grandmother, great-grand Mimi B as the boys call her for an early morning at the parade.  As we were headed there Drake said, "Mom I can't believe I have never been to a parade before" hello bad parents. We need to get out more and let the children enjoy. Drake loved it and Carter didn't move much.  Between the fire trucks, High-motors, as Drake use to call motorcycles when he was young, and cheerleaders they LOVED IT!!!

We had lunch with mom, mimi B, Stefanie (cousin), her two girls Marlie and Steelie, Nanny (Stef's mom) and our family friend Trudy.  Lunch was rushed, because the two oldest were ready to go, and Carter kept on and on about "I ride CHOO CHOO"

All the kids loved the rides.  Carter was a little upset because he couldn't ride much, but he had TONS of turns on the Carousel.  He even met a little buddy, don't know his name, riding the cars because Drake was to busy playing the games.  Carter is a ride lover, and Drake is ALL ABOUT the games.  He could play all day long if you let him.  I think we came home with 4 large dogs, 2 baby dogs, and a bat. A bunch of junk to clutter my house. One by one it will make it's exit LOL!!

Do you see me????

This is Marlie, she was so excited  she just beat her mommy at a game..
This is Steelie.. Isn't she precious..

Marlie and Steelie have a special place in my heart. They are my cousins Stefanie's daughters and we love to be around them.  They moved to Sugar Land, into our neighborhood and we Love it..  We are having so much fun spending time together, husbands, kids, and all..

Also in the post I would to add a little thank you message:
THANKS DEDE and NANNY for helping us out with the kids today.  There would of been no way we would of had so much fun without you guys there.

We had a WONDERFUL day.. Just a day with me and my boys, oh and a little bit of family...
